When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again, Hurrah Hurrah

The Republican National Convention is over.

Now the rubber meets the road.  Is America the country that I have known for the last 70 years . . as a country of people who respect one another, have common goals, and want to make a contribution?  Or, is it a country that operates in an ignorance that is bounded by rascism, isolationism and hate?

I thought that the bigotry and hate of the past 200 years was in the past with the disintegration of the Ku Klux Klan and the George Wallace’s only to discover that a fairly large percentage of the United States still harbors these demons of the past.

And, when a president can outwardly flaunt his rascism, hate and disregard for the truth in public and find support from this group, you know that the monsters of the past are, not just in the wings waiting for their grand opportunity, but onstage hood in hand.

I am sure that the majority does not support these ideas.

Now is the time for Americans to stand up and do something.
