A Dream May 15, 2023
She sang a duet with me. Something from the Phantom of the Opera. We were on a curving, descending staircase and she laughed. Her features were soft. She sat next to me and talked with the man on the other side for awhile. I felt a touch on my arm and she said,’Is the time for us over’.
I remember walking down the curving balcony that descended to an auditorium with no doors. The walkway was well worn and I heard a man singing some operatic piece. I could see from the side of the auditorium that there was no seating and no audience. Only this middle-aged, gray bearded man standing in the middle of the area where the seating should have been. . . singing something from an opera.
I was overcome with sadness and dropped to my knees. I cried . . .
For a moment I was lost.
It was all the sadness I could bear. It was time to move on.
And, I woke up.
