I was watching bits and pieces of the Impeachment testimony yesterday. They were fascinating, but who has the time to sit in front of the TV for 6 hours for weeks on end? The facts are evident. President Trump tried to extort a foreign government to influence the next US election and his attitude, through his acting Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, is that the American people should just ‘get over it’.
But, in reality, it’s not President Trump who is on trial, his guilt is evident to anyone who thinks and is open minded regarding the facts.
It is the Congress who is on trial. Can the Congress follow the constitution and impeach a President who is evidently guilty of a serious crime. And, I should mention that this is only the latest serious crime in a prolific crime spree.
This is not a question of party. It is a question about whether or not Congress can act in the best interests of the country instead of their own self-interest.
The jury is still out.
