During the last election there was ample time for the Russians (or anyone else) to tamper with the results from the different states. So it was suspicious that the Trump vote, at the last minute, overcame leads built up by Hillary Clinton . .to allow Trump to win strategic states by a whisker, and ultimately the Presidency.
I will add, as a note, that supercomputers have changed the ballgame when it comes to security. While it is not worth the time to break the RSA encription to access my bank account (unfortunately), it would be possible, and I think we can see worthwhile to do this for Presidential elections.
I saw an interview with a computer scientist from a Michigan State who mentioned this possibility. Having spent my career in Information Technology, including the software development labs at Hewlett Packard, I feel very strongly that this is possible. And, without a doubt, it is suspicious that Trump has been largely unwilling to provide support to fix any problems with the election systems.
In an earlier blog, I described Donald Trump’s tell when he has done something inappropriate . . he blames the other person for having done the very thing he is complaining about. The examples are replete and ‘in plain sight’! So, it is interesting to note that he accused both Obama and the Democrats of rigging the election . . of course, before the results came in.
So, what is the biggest danger?
Well, what would happen if Trump’s approval rating was in the 30’s and 40’s and every poll of the American people indicated that Trump would lose by a landslide, and he won strategic states by a whisker at the last minute to give him another improbable victory?
