The Good Old Days

There is a big pull to go back to the good old days.  This has always been present in the human mindset.

If you think about it, the old days were filled with world wars, polio, genocide, every type of sexual degradation that males could foist onto females, the massacres known as the Crusades, the humiliation, shaming and murdering of those who didn’t follow the party line . . at that time done by the Catholic church.  However, I don’t want to limit this to only one religion.  They were all culpable.  And well, that’s one of the points.

It has been religions inability to grow out of the past and become relevant in the present, and probably non-existent in the future, that has become the biggest stumbling block to the immense development of mankind.   It is difficult to say that God has changed his mind about certain topics . . the bible hasn’t changed.  Who among us have a direct, not insane, link with God and his current thinking?

We just don’t choose to remember the reality of the past.  Only the things that we liked about the past . . a simpler time, when we were young and our developing brains were built according to the mores of the time.

It’s why the great movement forward for humanity is difficult.  Even if it is inevitable.
