Our ISIS

The topic of immigration has been reduced to the level of a third grader.

Build a wall or don’t build a wall.

Here are some facts.  You can’t stop immigration.  It has been a part of human existence since the beginning of time as we know it.  This is not going to stop.

The issue is how we treat people, as a global initiative, so we can manage the migration given cultural differences and the existence of different countries and borders.

So how are we doing?  We are putting people in cages, killing them, separating families, sexually abusing them, and, in general, treating them as if we were still living in pre-history.  Our culture has been a leader in the understanding and treatment of immigrants until recently.

The spate of recent events gives us a glimpse of what is our ISIS.

We have recalcitrant groups: the uneducated, those lacking in committed values, the selfish.

The fact that this exists is not a surprise, but the number of people in this population is.
