It’s Not Very Often That Something Special Happens

I have limited my blog writing recently because . . well, how many times can you say that Trump is a scumbag and that the Republican leadership lacks integrity and has lost sight of what a democracy really is.  Well, there, I’ve said it again!

I don’t want to bore anyone with the obvious so I’ll just transition to this.

I listened to Janis by Country Joe this morning.  I have played it since 1967 when I first heard Country Joe and the Fish’s first album with my friend Chris in Sunnyvale. He was a friend of a friend who was vision impaired, but loved cars and built models.  And, he loved music.

On that same album I loved Fixing to Die Rag, which I am going to re-add to my new set list    😊    .   Perhaps, a little outdated, but . . have you seen me recently?

Anyway, Janis, about Janis Joplin, is a wonderful ballad in ¾ time about wanting something, knowing that it isn’t quite right, but still wanting it.

Sort of a commentary on more than a just a love affair between two talented artists in the 60’s.
