It Begs the Question

It has been about fifty years since the last great leap forward for humanity took place, fueled by the advent of the baby boomers after WWII.  Certainly, one of the unintended consequences of the second world war was the movement from a rural America to a more sophisticated world view.

The question in my mind has been the timing of the next great leap forward.  I always assumed that it would be another great invention like the Pro-V1 golf ball . . or the computer!

But, not so. It has been the consolidated advances in the ability to communicate effectively across the world . . to bring like minds together to explore and create anew.

When all people are free to share their thoughts, unreservedly, without offending or inhibiting others, we will experience an explosive growth of knowledge which will revolutionize humanity, our view of not just ourselves but our place in the Universe.   And, it can only happen if everyone participates.

Which begs the question of why we even strive for having walls . . or borders.
