The road in front of the Tournament Hills Elementary School was crowded . . with cars and with frenzied parents pushing and prodding their progeny toward this beacon of knowledge. Some were just rushing, others truly frenzied.
Out of the corner of my eye I saw a hispanic man, perhaps 22 years old, on the meridian. He was headed toward his car. He looked angry, or, at least, bothered. His manicured moustache was now frizzled (new word!). And, you could see worry and anxiety on his face.
Perhaps, a fight with his wife or his child, perhaps a problem at work, perhaps an unpleasant discussion with a teacher. But, he was not frenzied, just anxious.
It made me think of how many times we are ensnared by the ups-and-downs of life and don’t recognize the opportunities, the possibilities, and, of couse, the relationships that make life such a wonder and a blessing.
