Drink Up, My Friend!

I remember coming to the dinner table full, and my mother telling me to eat everything on the plate.  I couldn’t.  For whatever reason, I was completely full.  But, I was running on a schedule and had to drive to Ruger Theatre and work the spotlights for a production of My Fair Lady, so I tried.  After some moaning and complaining, it was clear my mother wasn’t going to let me go without eating everything.  It was painful, but I ate it all.

I laid across the front seat of our Chevy for a half hour before I could drive.  I was late, but, fortunately, I was able to do the show at 8:00 PM.

I have run into numerous times in my lifetime where I have taken a bottle of beer or wine, and couldn’t finish it.  I always feel a little guilty.

But, no one could possibly think that beer or wine producers knew the size of your stomach and filled the bottles or designed the glasses to fit your stomach. . no, it was a marketing choice, given the circumstances, not the least of which was the availability of bottles or glasses in the appropriate color from a manufacturer of bottles.

It was up to you to make the decision of what was appropriate.
