Democracy Is Not A Given

The pandemic in all its ferocious forms was and is a horrible blight on the world.  However, there are silver linings to every disaster.

The pandemic brought an end to the terrorist reign of D. Trump.   Without it, he would have been re-elected.  As it was, despite his massive incompetence and corruption, the election was reasonably close.  If it had been closer, his attempt to overthrow the election, and the democratic processes of our government, might have been successful . . but, it was close.

We should deal with these insurgents for who they really are . . domestic terrorists and treat them as such.  No one should be left off the list.

When someone openly tries to overthrow the government of the United States, there should be consequences . . or, it will happen again.

To those who say that it wasn’t a serious attempt, I would say two hundred and fifty years of a relatively stable government has made the populace too complacent.

Democracy is great, but it takes work to keep it.  It is not a given.
