A Leaf at Doral

A leaf fell from an Acacia tree.  It was yellow.  It floated in the wind and settled gently onto a green at the Doral Country Club.  Unbeknownst to this happy leaf, Phil Mickelson had stroked a critical birdie putt toward the hole moments before.

The leaf landed and basked in the sun for an instant before the ball, which was on a bee-line to the hole, hit the leaf and bounced up before continuing on toward it’s target.  The ball rolled to the lip of the cup and stopped, overhanging the hole by a hair.

The leaf, basking in the afternoon sun on this warm, lazy day in Florida caught another breeze and flew off to wreak havoc with another life.
